When an illustrator and a colorist team up in perfect harmony, magic happens. Memories in Aki is a perfect example of such harmomy. ~LancerMonna's coloring brings out the life in her collaborator's lineart with a folley of warm reds, however allows the character's eyes to pique our attention with their subtle contrast.

Description

This is a nurei drawn by Sho. I loved it and couldn't help but to color it.

As for the coloring, I wanted to keep it the same feel as the original so I tried to make it as warm as possible. Besides the weather's been kind of cold too. So I needed something to distract me from this bitter winter season.

This is Sho's webpage list. On Protalgraphic's I go by bianca so if you comment to her and wish to refer to me, please use my bianca pen name. Sho's Japanese and doesn't understand english, but at least tell her what you think of her work.

My version is a little changed from hers but is the same overall effect. Her line art was already posted on Portalgraphics.net before I decided to color it. I simply loved her line art so that's why I colored it. If you wish to color something of hers please ask her first.

~Update~

There has been a misunderstanding between Sho-san and I that occured that I wish to address. On Comic Art.com there is a page called Nurei page which let's you download line drawings and color them. [link]

On Protalgraphic.net [link] I have seen where people post their line arts and other artists have colored them as well. A lot of the line arts that I saw said that it was okay to color it. When I saw Sho-san's line art I thought that the same policy applied and looked at how the Japanese colorest addressed the line artist. I colored the senga "line drawing" and posted it online and thanked her as well in Japanese.

Apprently Sho-san said that I was not invited to color it. I immediately had my friend apologize for the misunderstanding for me and then I personally apologized again for my error in Japanese. I wanted to address it through e-mail, but she does not have one posted on her profile page so my friend and I posted the apologies on her art pages so that she could see them. I even posted them on the my " Memories in Aki" page on Portalgraphic.net as well.

Since I am not Japanese nor am I fluent in the language; I was unaware of the custom on how to ask her. This is still not an excuse. I just thought that you could use it but making sure that I said who the artist was and the title of their line art. I am still waiting for her response, but after talking to several people, I think that the issue has been resolved. But, again, I am still waiting for Sho-san's response. If this is not the cause and she feels that I should take this down than I will do so.

Please do not think badly of me, this was a misunderstanding that anyone could have made. I apologize for my errors and if I have to, I will apologize again for my misunderstanding. I am only human and am prone to making mistakes, but I learn from them as well.

So again, please learn from my mistake, if you wish to color another artists line art or 'senga', even on the English Nurei page, please ask them first. Even if you have to ask them in English and in a broken language using an online translater.

If you have any concerns that you wish for me to address please let me know. I will be more than happy to do so. Thank you.
